Not far from Marco Island there is the Briggs Nature Center run by the Conservancy of Southwest Florida which is another wonderful place to take part in nature. They offer up some adventures of the local terrain and water. They can take you on a canoe paddle through the water channels and guided walking tours of the mini islands. Go on a fossil dig, take a walk through the wild flowers, explore the everglades and then connect with the locals in the area and see what the artists are up to. They have a ticket to the local art studios.
