It’s one of the musical genres that has a limited appeal, although the limit does tend to reach millions of fans. In all the varieties of rock that are out there, few are as contested as metal. It’s often either a love or hate thing with the music, and the ones who love it think everyone else must be crazy, and vice versa. But for those who are looking to travel in the east coast, to enjoy the 5 star Boston hotels , and take in some sights, the music scene is alive and well.
With Metalfest , that’s held in Worcester every year, the extremes of an extreme music are on display. It’s one weekend and a whole bunch of bands. In spectacular metal fashion, the dates can move around quite a bit, with January in 2009 and April in 2010, so it takes a little planning to match the trip with the festival. This isn’t a music festival for people who listen to the radio, as most of the bands playing here get very limited airplay. They do, however, have some of the most important props in the industry, and the respect of all their fans. It’s something to see.
