The Cloud Can be Private if Needed

Posted by admin - Categorized under: Business

It’s nearly impossible to read a tech magazine, blog, or newpaper column without seeing news and analysis about the rise and impact of the cloud. In 2010, the cloud is definitely one of the big things and is likely to remain so for several years as more and more companies and even individuals move more and more computing functions off of in house servers and computers and into the cloud.

For those companies who are drawn to the flexibility and efficiency of cloud computing but afraid of losing control and security, there are a number of options for private cloud automation . The first is to create their own private cloud. This is ideal for very large corporations with extensive data and processes that need high levels of security. By building and maintaining their own cloud they can offer flexibility and efficiency to employees and even clients while keeping tight control of access and other security issues.

Another, more common, solution is to contract with private cloud companies. These are third party businesses that specialize in creating private cloud environments for their clients. While the physical systems reside on their equipment, they work very closely with companies to design cloud environments that provide high security, customization, and keep control firmly in the hands of the company using the cloud. An additional advantage of using a private cloud vendor is that companies can usually create hybrid clouds, where some functions are on public clouds (which are usually cheaper) while the core, sensitive computing is on the private cloud. This allows them to design the perfect balance of security, control, and price.

An internship is an important part of the educational process. It is an opportunity to get out of the classroom and put the skills that have been learned in class to the test.
An internship is more than just utilizing what you know it is an opportunity to learn. Having the experience of an internship, like Southwestern Company is highly recommended, if not required, for most careers, so it is not something to be taken lightly.
There are many thousands of internships out there, both paid and unpaid. While you should be open to applying to as many as possible, that fit your future career path of course, use discretion when accepting. During the interview process ask many questions about the company and the tasks that you would be doing. It’s a good idea to make sure that you are comfortable with the responsibilities before you waste your and the company’s time.
Besides gaining valuable experience, an internship is important for establishing yourself in the industry. A journalist might intern at Vogue and a salesman at Southwestern Company –both are opportunities to begin developing your reputation as a good worker and networking with employees.
As an intern you are probably the lowest person on the totem pole; as a result you will probably be assigned some seemingly meaningless tasks. However you can show your supervisor your work ethic and the fact that you have a positive attitude by getting the task done without complaining. If you prove your self indispensable you might just find your self in a permanent position.

Windows Bring the Building to Life

Posted by admin - Categorized under: Home

Windows come in all shapes and sizes. Some are big and some are small. Some are round and some are square. The unique size and shape of the windows is often what gives the building its character and charm and, ultimately, brings it to life.

The many tall elaborate windows of the Washington National Cathedral are a good example of the important role that windows play. On the inside the stained glass adds to the beauty and reverence that is due while on the outside they show the buildings history and elaborate gothic architecture.

When it comes to decorating windows , special attention should be given to the function and history of both the windows and the structure. Obviously you wouldn’t want to cover the intricate stained glass of the Cathedral; however, in your home the windows serve a different purpose. Some nice window blinds can help protect your family’s privacy while still being functional and stylish. For added elegance in a formal dining or living area, cornices are a good choice.

Whether it is a comfortable family home or elaborate historic structure, the windows play an important role in giving the building its appeal. However, it is just as important to take time and consider how you dress them.

Luis Gonzaga and the Making of Forro in Rio

Posted by admin - Categorized under: Travel

Forro is a kind of music that’s as lively and varied as the arguments for the origins of its own name. Some say it comes from the word for party, roughly, forrobodo, although there are many who insist it’s just a local pronunciation of the English “for all” dances. It could also come from the Hungarian word for “hot,” as it was coined at a time when many were coming to Brazil from Hungary. Heat, parties, and dancing are all part of it, and although many will attribute its origins to Luis Gonzaga , it dates back at least 80 years prior to the 1940s, when he made it popular in Rio.

It’s a form that draws on multiple cultures, with a strong bass line that’s got European rhythm, along with a tremendous syncopation that couldn’t have origins anywhere but in West Africa. It’s fitting for the city, where Rio de Janeiro hotels draw people from all over the world to a city that’s a multi-cultural blend of everything in the world.

It’s hard to avoid the pull of the forro , even for those hearing it for the first time. A few steps into the music, and it makes sense why this has been the music of choice in areas, where the people decided they wanted to keep dancing until the dark of the night saw the first moment of the sun in the next day.

Erik’s family released a statement in response to all the reports of his alleged stints at drug rehab centers . His parents wanted Erik to know just how proud they are of their son for getting the help he needs in order to stay off drugs. They will stand by their son and love him unconditionally. In return, Erik made a statement via Twitter thanking his folks for all their love, thoughts and concerns. Plus, he will be taking some personal time to address a non-football related illness.

Ainge was a former Glencoe High School multisport star, and then graduated from Tennessee where he had a roller-coaster career as the Tennessee Volunteers quarterback. The New York Jet selected him by the 5th round in 2008.

He has been playing for the New York Jets for 4 years, but this year he’ll be placed on the reserve/non-football illness list before training camp begins.
